RedCloud is a technology company whose platform sits at customer sites. Once deployed, they’d started losing control. Customers were continuing to use the platform after subscriptions expired and payments went unpaid, with no reliable way to stop it. AiimOne designed and built a central licensing solution that generates, validates, and manages licenses for every deployment, checks in with a central server before granting access, and shuts down access automatically when subscriptions expire.

What Was Breaking RedCloud's Control?
From Limited Control to Full Ownership
RedCloud had no reliable way to enforce subscriptions or disable access when customers stopped paying, so control of their own product had quietly shifted to the customer side.
RedCloud’s platform was sitting at customer sites, and once deployed, there wasn’t much they could do to stop customers from using it however they wanted. Subscriptions expired. Payments went unpaid. The platform kept running.

- Customers continued using the platform after subscriptions expired
- No reliable way to disable access when payments were overdue
- Platform control shifted from RedCloud to customers after deployment

AiimOne designed a centralized licensing system on .NET and Azure App Service that generates, validates and manages every license from one place, with every deployment checking in before granting access.
The system came together as one connected engine:
- Central license server generates, validates, and manages licenses for every RedCloud deployment. Every license lives in one place, tracked and controlled.
- License issuance at delivery captures all required customer details upfront during service delivery, so licensing starts clean from day one.
- Deployment-level license checks run every time the platform is used. If the license is invalid or expired, access is blocked. No exceptions.
- Secure XML license files hold license data in a tamper-resistant format, protecting the integrity of every issued license.
- Expiry warnings and grace period logic live in the back office admin panel. Warnings show up as licenses approach expiry, and after a defined grace period, platform functionality is automatically disabled.
- Hosted license server for partners gives RedCloud’s partner network the same enforcement model, so partner deployments stay under control too.
- Azure App Service hosts the whole thing, delivering the reliability and scale the licensing system needs to run without interruption.
